Alexander Technique with Donna Martin

The Alexander Technique is a way of simplifying how you stand, sit and move. It results in better posture, more graceful movement and increased well-being. It can help to change the course of aging, relieve pain related to postural issues and improve the ease with which you approach any activity.

In this course we will learn to recognize and prevent muscular effort interfering with your easiest functioning by applying the principles of the Technique to some common activities of living. We will also work on a simple movement phrase from Qi Gong over each of the four meetings in order to give students a specific activity to practice between sessions.

The Instructor

Donna Martin has been teaching the Alexander Technique to individuals in Austin and Dallas for over 15 years. Previously she taught ballet and modern dance at the performing arts high schools in Dallas and Houston. She studied Tai Chi as part of her training in dance and recently that interest was reawakened; hence the interest in combining the Alexander Technique and Qi Gong.
